Trainee Bulk Analyst

Location: Rosyth, Fife.
Permanent, full-time
Salary: competitive dependent on experience

The role offers full in-house training with the expectation you will progress to a fully qualified Bulk Analyst position, by undertaking the examination required to achieve a P401 qualification.

The role will involve:

  • Analysing bulk materials for asbestos content
  • Managing workload throughout the working day
  • Completing internal and external QC
  • Filling in the workbook daily of samples that have been entered and sent out
  • Following technical procedures
  • Managing laboratory workload; including booking samples into the in-house system
  • Upholding good communication with colleagues

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • A full UK driving licence
  • Laboratory experience or knowledge of the asbestos industry would be helpful but not essential
  • A minimum GCSE of a C or above in Maths, English and preferably Science. Further qualifications are desirable.
  • The ability to work towards further qualifications is essential as the role requires you to achieve a P401 qualification (full training will be provided)

Asbestos Surveyor/Analyst

Location: Unit 2b Hylton Park, Sunderland, SR5 3HD / Rosyth, Fife 
Permanent, full time
Working hours: Monday-Friday with business hours ranging from 7am-7pm
Salary: Competitive + company car + benefits available upon request

Due to an exciting time of business development we have an opportunity for two fully trained Asbestos Surveyor/Analyst to join our team. One role will be based at our Sunderland office and the other will be working from our office in Rosyth, Fife. When submitting your application, please specify which location you are applying for.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • The candidate must hold a minimum of a minimum of a BOHS 402 certificate or BOHS P403 and P404 certificates (or equivalent)
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of industry experience in asbestos surveying and air monitoring
    Experience in a range of property sectors

The Role:

As an Asbestos Surveyor/Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out asbestos surveys; management and refurbishment and demolition type surveys
  • Carrying out 4 stage clearances, test reporting and submitting reports for background, leak, reassurance, clearance, personal and smoke testing
  • Creating reports
  • Building and maintaining customer relations
  • Representing the company well at all times and in interactions with clients
  • Conducting site walkthroughs and survey plans

Administrator

Location: Rosyth, Fife.
Permanent, full-time
Salary: competitive dependent on experience

The purpose of the Administrator role is to assist the Regional Manager in the ongoing growth of the business and so should support them in the running of the office, delivering excellent customer service to clients and producing client reports within the appropriate timescales.

The role will involve:

  • Managing the housing report process
  • Scheduling and arranging appointments by liaising with clients
  • Being the first point of contact for customer enquires; aiming to deliver excellent customer service while resolving queries in a timely manner
  • Supporting the regional manager in scheduling works for Asbestos Analysts and Surveyors to complete on a daily basis
  • Logging customer enquiries to the inhouse system
  • Creating letters and communication materials and sending to clients
  • Using a variety of software packages such as: Microsoft word, excel and outlook to produce correspondence and documents and maintain records, spreadsheets and databases
  • Filing, photocopying, scanning
  • Petty cash reconciliation
  • Ordering and maintaining stationary, consumables and office equipment and distribution of such items
  • Organise accommodation arrangements
  • On occasion to book bulk samples in for testing for analytical laboratory
  • Any ad-hoc duties.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience within an office or administrative role is essential.
  • Experience in customer service, constructing reports, booking appointments, managing diaries and scheduling is expected.
  • Minimum GCSE’s of C or above in Mathematics and English.
  • Knowledge of an administrative role and supporting a manager
  • Knowledge of the asbestos industry would be beneficial but not essential
