  • Permanent, part time
  • Working hours: approximately 20 hours per week, working pattern negotiable

The role itself

The purpose of the HR Advisor role is to oversee the HR system and be the point of contact for HR related issues and queries, create policies and drive initiatives within the company.

The role will involve:

  • Creating HR policies
  • Arranging and maintaining employee training, ensuring training cost agreements are in place
  • Liaising with line managers to advise and resolve employee queries
  • Providing line manager training
  • Overseeing absence management 
  • Liaising with HR Consultants for expert advice to ensure the business operates within the confines of the Law, and relay guidance to employees
  • Workforce Planning
  • Composing and issuing offer packs to new starters to ensure all starter documents are received
  • Designing and delivering induction to all new starters 
  • Management of employee contracts and amendments
  • Designing and maintaining employee job descriptions
  • Designing and managing the appraisal process for employees, in line with job descriptions
  • Management of HR system
    • Sickness absence reporting
    • Oversee holiday management
    • Document control and distribution
    • Adding new starters and leavers
    • Assigning e-learning modules
  • Managing maternity and paternity and shared parental leave related events
  • Responding to disciplinary and grievances as they arise and in a timely manner
  • Managing the leaver process, ensuring equipment is returned and an exit interview is completed
  • Arranging DBS and drug and alcohol checks as and when required
  • Managing TUPE process
  • Completing holiday calculations and answering queries
  • Look to improve employee wellbeing initiatives
  • Supporting managers in recruitment practices such as advertising, interviews and liaising with applicants
  • Overseeing and managing GDPR compliance
  • Undertaking HR Administrative tasks as required

Essential qualifications and experience:

Previous experience within a HR Advisor role or similar is essential.
CIPD Level 5 is required
