Our Legionella risk assessment service

A commercial Legionella risk assessment, also known as an L8 risk assessment, involves a trained professional assessing a building’s water systems to identify conditions that enable Legionella to grow.

Water temperatures, cold water storage tanks, dead-end pipes, stagnant water and water components are inspected during a water hygiene risk assessment to find potential causes of Legionnaires’ disease.

Our process

Step 1

Initial consultation

Following your request to speak to a specialist about Legionnaires’ disease risk, we’ll get in touch with you to discuss your property and the water systems. We’ll then schedule a convenient time to visit your site for an in-depth Legionella assessment.

Step 2

On-site visit

Our City & Guilds-qualified assessors carry out comprehensive Legionnaires’ risk assessments in accordance with ACOP L8, HSG274 and BS 8580. As a Legionella Control Association (LCA) registered company, we identify potential risks and provide clear recommendations to support compliance.

Step 3

Record findings

Once the risks of Legionnaires’ disease are identified, they’re recorded. Photographs, risk ratings, guidance and recommendations are also recorded. A plan for further checks, whether daily, weekly or monthly, is also documented.

Step 4

Ongoing compliance

Where required, we can assist with Legionella remedial works, monitoring programmes, water sampling and temperature checks. We also offer Legionella awareness training to ensure those responsible for managing water systems comply with HSE legislation.
