Asbestos Awareness Training

The HSE state that anyone, employed or self employed, who might be liable to disturb asbestos in the course of their work should receive suitable training to ensure they can work safely and without risk to themselves and others.

Asbestos awareness training is for anyone who might possibly disturb asbestos during the course of their work. It is intended to give the candidate a level of knowledge about asbestos but does not enable them to work with asbestos for which further training is required.

Asbestos awareness training briefly comprises:

  • The properties of asbestos and it’s historical context
  • Health effects and epidemiology
  • Typical asbestos containing materials and their uses in building and plant
  • Emergency procedures and dealing with accidental damage
  • How to avoid the risks from asbestos

We are UKATA certified for our asbestos awareness training and each candidate will sit a short exam comprising multiple choice questions, after which they will receive a certificate should they answer them correctly.
