North Tyneside Council (Kier North Tyneside)

Since 2008, Franks Portlock has provided asbestos surveying, lab analysis, air testing, clearance certification and asbestos consultancy services to North Tyneside Council.

A lot of this work was provided during the venture partnership with Kier Building Maintenance (Kier North Tyneside), from 2009 to 2019, providing maintenance and repairs for North Tyneside’s social housing and public buildings.

In 2019, we were awarded a 3-year framework contract to continue providing these services to North Tyneside Council. We provide ongoing, continuous support to North Tyneside Council to a wide range of accommodation types throughout the area including:

• Accommodation block common areas
• External garages
• Flats and maisonettes
• Terraced and semi-detached houses
• Care homes

Our flexible service means that we can quickly turnaround recently vacated properties for our client where we are required to conduct the asbestos survey and report the inspection within 48 hours.

All our laboratory analysis for North Tyneside Council is carried out in our laboratory in Sunderland, which holds the requisite UKAS accreditation to ISO/ IEC 17025.

In addition, as part of this contract we are committed to undertaking a range of CSR projects within the local area.

Throughout our work, we provide the highest level of service to enhance safety and minimise risk. We are proud to be continuing our work with North Tyneside Council.
