Clearance Certification

A clearance is required following the completion of licensed asbestos removal. Certain types of asbestos material are inherently more friable and subject to tighter controls but at Franks Portlock, we can work alongside you and support you through the decision making process. We appreciate that asbestos removal works are intrusive and we aim to work with licensed contractors to ensure that the clearance is completed with minimal disruption. Prior to completing any asbestos removal, a four stage clearance must be completed before a clearance certificate is issued and the area designated safe for people to occupy.

The four stage clearance process involves:

  1. Preliminary check of site condition
  2. A thorough visual inspection of the enclosure/ work area
  3. Air monitoring for residual asbestos fibres
  4. Final assessment after removal of the asbestos in the enclosure/ work area

We are fully UKAS accredited for four stage clearances, and are independent of any other organisation.
