At Franks Portlock we value the fantastic services our local charities provide to the community. To show our appreciation we try to support as many of these organisations as possible through sponsorship, participation and volunteering.
We are proud to announce, team members from our Sellafield and Sunderland offices are signed up to the Muncaster Colour Run, which will be held on the 8th of July on behalf of Hospice at Home West Cumbria, a charity that serves those in need of palliative care, as well as providing support for their family and carers.
Hospice at Home West Cumbria is the sole provider of Lymphoedema services in the region. The care it provides is crucial, not only to patients suffering from life limiting illnesses but also to the patient’s family members and carers. Alongside the high quality individualised palliative care it provides, the charity also offers support to families, by providing services such as complementary therapy and bereavement support.
The Hospice at Home Colour Run is an annual event, however this year is guaranteed to be ‘INCREDI-BUBBLE’ with the introduction of a new foam zone as well as the usual colour paint covering. The race is 5k or 1k and can be jogged, walked, skipped, or danced – meaning it is suitable for all abilities.
Franks Portlock has successfully established a team of seventeen employees, as well as friends and family for the event. We will also have volunteers manning our Blue Colour Station at the event – Franks Portlock’s chosen colour for sponsorship.
James New, Sellafield Site Contract Manager and North West Regional Manager, said of the upcoming charity run: “We are proud to be supporting such an important cause through raising funds and awareness by participating in the Muncaster Colour run. As a local charity, we are aware of the care Hospice at Home provides to the West Cumbria area, we wanted to make a difference, and felt the Muncaster Colour Run was a great opportunity to give something back as a team. We hope that the contribution we make on the day means Hospice at Home West Cumbria can continue to provide its fantastic charitable services.”
